Some undocumented youth have been given temporary permission to stay in the United States under a program called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. These individuals are lawfully present in the United States and can be granted work authorization and Social Security numbers. However, they are not eligible for Medicaid, CHIP, or the marketplaces. (45 C.F.R. § 155.20; 45 C.F.R. § 152.2).
